Sometimes, however, it is best for our customers to provide frozen products.  Maybe because deliveries of certain products are only possible at greater intervals – sometimes they can only be sourced frozen.  Whatever the reason, there are actually quite a large and varied range in our freezers.

Palmdale Turkey selections – and how to cook them

Turkey = Christmas right?  Luckily, Palmdale Village Meats, Poultry and Seafood has a very wide variation of Gluten free, Nitrate Free, Turkey Roasts – from smaller 1 kilo rolled roasts, to large 8 kilo full Turkeys.  Seasoned or not, as per your request!  Gluten free stuffing available!

While Turkey can be a truly delicious meal, it is a very lean meat and can be easily overcooked. Not only is it a leaner meat than you may be used to, but it is generally the only time of the year we are cooking such a large roast – and possibly even the only time this year you’re cooking Turkey.

There are only a certain number available in each size, so it is best to order them. Call in or ring, you don’t need to pick your roast up until you need it, but you do need to order it now (08) 8267 5498

Jan’s Party Pleasers

These are the best, and easiest party nibble you can make! Why “Jan’s” pleasers? I have a very great friend that made these for a party I attended so very long ago – her name was Jan… Makes sense right? These were so delicious I embarrassed myself at the party scoffing them down like there was no tomorrow. Don’t worry, I didn’t get them all – I had to fight people off, they were that popular!

The combination of ingredients have an amazing synergy of flavours that create a real taste explosion. They will not disappoint… They can be thoroughly enjoyed hot OR cold!

They’re also great to use up any left over ham after the Holiday Season (even if you buy a smaller ham- maybe one of Palmdale Village Meat’s famous Red Gum Smoked Cameo Hams, you might have some left.)

Did you know that if you drop off a list of your order – and if you specify how you wanted it packed – Palmdale Village Meats, Poultry and Seafood can Vacuum Pack your selection exactly how you want it!  Want BBQ packs?  Certain amounts in this bag – different in that?  No problems!

Give them some warning guys!  Please give them your list the day before, please feel free to give it many days/weeks before, but give them at least a day.

It’s as simple as giving them that small lead time, and your list of what you want and how you want it packed.  Then, pick up your perfectly, professionally, packed bags ready for your fridge, freezer or holiday when you have asked for it 🙂

Maple / Red Gum Smoked Bacon

Palmdale Meat, Poultry and Seafood, in the North Adelaide Village, smoke their own long and short back bacon.  Truly smoked, they don’t use “liquid” smoke, no – their Bacon is smoked over authentic Red Gum Sawdust, with just a hint of Gluten Free true Maple Syrup. This on-site smoked bacon lends a flavour you are highly unlikely to have experienced before.

When it became increasingly obvious that if Palmdale Meats were to continue to offer high quality, fabulous tasting Gluten Free Bacon at a reasonable price – they had to start smoking it themselves.

Isn’t it nice to know that Palmdale Meats, Poultry and Seafood – that Butcher shop in the North Adelaide Shopping Centre that smells so good {because they smoke all their own smoked products) – has everything in hand and can take some of the pressure off you this Holiday Season.

But don’t be one of those people who rushes around at the last minute. John Keough, Manager - darn good cook

Palmdale Mayo – Perfect with our Smoked Salmon

Did you know that if John Keough, Manager of Palmdale Meats, Poultry and Seafood, didn’t get an apprenticeship as a Butcher when he was 17 – he would be a Chef right now?  In 1978 he was waiting for offers for both apprenticeships. Lucky for all of us he chose being a Butcher – because his love of food and cooking can still be shared by us all, as well giving us, arguably, the best Butcher in Adelaide!

One of his recipes – such a simple one – is a Mayonnaise that goes especially well with Palmdale’s Smoked Salmon and already a favourite with many of John’s customers. Use it spread on a cracker – or spread it over a whole side of Palmdale Salmon before presenting it to the table. Sprinkle it with a few extra whole or chopped capers for an extra special touch.
