Palmdale Smoked Salmon – the best in Adelaide… The World?

Before we get into the nitty gritty of Palmdale Smoked Salmon and why it is so fantastic, did you know that Palmdale also smoke their own Trout, Chicken Breast, Whole Chicken (medium sized), Chicken Maryland, Short Back Bacon, Middle Bacon and Hocks?  Yup, John is a busy boy most days, smoking Adelaide’s favourite, and best, smoked produce!

Roast Pork Belly, a delicious option for the versatile Pork Belly cut

Pork Belly Ideas

Pork Belly has certainly been in “flavour” recently 🙂 – different variations of this versatile cut has been featured on MasterChef in their recent series, touted by famous/popular Chefs in books, magazines, and in many blogs… But what is it?

It is a flat cut of meat that has a fairly high fat to meat ratio.  It is that fat to meat ratio and wide, flat shape, that lends the cut to such a variety of options, recipe wise, and the delicious taste that it is famous for.

There is some caution needed when purchasing your Pork Belly. Too fatty and the recipe will taste unpleasantly slimy.  Too little, and the tough meat (normally ameliorated by the combination of fat:meat) will be tough and dry.

Mini Roasts – for 1 or 2 people

If you love your roasts, you will certainly have your favourite!  Maybe it’s a lovely Chicken Roast with all the trimmings, crispy Pork or maybe Beef is your thing?  Palmdale Meats, Seafood and Poultry can certainly help you with high quality roast meats.

However, if there’s only one or two of you…. the biggest problem with larger roasts is what to do with the left overs?  Do you cook a large roast and have subsidiary meals, using the same roast, for the next week eg: Shepherd’s Pie, Roast Meat Pies, Cold Roast Sandwiches or Salads?  Or perhaps you would prefer to miss out altogether because it is all too hard for one person?
