You will know, by now, that Palmdale Village Meats, Poultry and Seafood have a huge range of fabulous, gluten free, nitrate free and in-store made/smoked fresh products.

Sometimes, however, it is best for our customers to provide frozen products.  Maybe because deliveries of certain products are only possible at greater intervals – sometimes they can only be sourced frozen.  Whatever the reason, there are actually quite a large and varied range in our freezers.

After our meat 🙂  Totally Gluten Free, preservative and colour free – totally natural – they are the perfect compliment for our Meat, Poultry or Seafood!

Amelia’s beautiful, delicious, range is hugely respected across Australia, and is the most awarded condiment company and leading pickled onion producer. 3 Gold, a Silver and a Bronze from a recent Food Awards to name a few.  We at Palmdale would not have anything the best for our Customers!

Slow Cooked, Apricot Chicken

First of all….. NO!  This is NOT the old 70’s/80’s favourite using french onion soup and apricot nectar (although my hind brain memory remembers that fondly)

This is a tiny bit more sophisticated, less sodium, less sugar, just as easy and absolutely delicious!!

Before the recipe… a quick word about the Chicken sold at your favourite Butchers,  Palmdale Village Meats, Poultry and Seafood. They get their Chickens from Greenslade Chickens.  An incredibly well known and respected Free Range Farm in the Riverland, South Australia – yup, local – and when Greenslade say “Free Range”, they mean it!  Now a large farm, but still family run after over 20 years – producing Free Range (from birth), grain fed.  Greenslade Farm actually grows the crops needed for the chooks themselves.  The Chickens are Antibiotic Free and totally Nitrate Free.

Palmdale Meats Totally Nitrate Free

Palmdale Meats are well known for many things – their amazing customer service and attention to detail not withstanding, they are well known for their fabulous smoked salmon and other smoked items such as Chicken, Trout, Bacon and Hocks.  Their steaks are all aged with skill, ensuring the perfect steak everytime.

The quality of their meats are truly second to none, with particularly strict adherence to issues such as ensuring as much of their products as possible are Gluten Free.  What’s more, they ensure that everything they offer in the butcher shop is Nitrate free!

Some people ask why nitrates are bad for you – and there is plenty of information on the internet that will answer that for you – but basically it is normally so prevalent in processed meats such as bacon, ham, smoked salmon and chicken to give a few examples, that it is assumed that Palmdale Meats fall into that category.

That assumption could not be further from the truth.  Palmdale Meats, Poultry and Seafood take extreme care that there are no products available to you, made on-site or not, that have any Nitrates in them.
